# Privacy Policy

**Effective Date: December 23, 2025**
**Last Updated: October 13, 2026**

## 1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Moonrise Technologies, Inc. ("Greysound," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our products, including our music-creation software Greysound (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

## 2. Age Restriction

The Service is only available to users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

## 3. Information We Collect

### Information You Provide
- Account information (email address, username)
- Chat conversations with our AI assistant, including all prompts and responses, or chat audio collected for voice chats
- Payment information (processed by third-party payment providers)
- Communications with our support team

### Audio and MIDI Clips
- For our standalone desktop app music creation software ONLY, **we do not access, upload, or store your audio or MIDI files, including clips you add or your final output**. For the browser-based music creation software, we do access all of these (they are needed to provide the Service in a browser).
- For our standalone desktop app music creation software ONLY, we will not upload your entire project file to the cloud unless you specifically choose to save it to the cloud, but when using the AI chat feature the Service may obtain information about your projects (such as track names, effects, or other project data) as part of providing those features. When using the AI sound generation feature, we may access and store your clip generation prompt and generated sounds as part of providing those features. For the web-based app, we will store your project file on the cloud and it will be accessible by us as part of providing cloud-based project access.

### Automatically Collected Information
- Usage analytics (features used, frequency of use, session duration)
- Technical data (browser type, operating system, device information)
- Crash reports and error logs
- Performance metrics

### Desktop App Updates and Launches
- **Update checks.** Our standalone desktop app (Greysound Pro) contacts our update server (downloads.greysound.ai) to check for and download updates. Each check sends the app version, operating system, CPU architecture, and an anonymous install identifier. The install identifier is a random ID generated on your device; it contains no personal data and is not linked to your account in the update request. As with any web request, our server also receives your IP address.
- **Downloads and updates.** When the desktop app is downloaded from our website or updated, we log the version and platform to count how many people are using each version.
- **App launch events.** Each time the desktop app starts, it sends an "app launched" analytics event containing the app version, operating system, CPU architecture, and the update server it uses. This event is associated with your signed-in account, in the same way as the desktop app's other diagnostics.
